I learned the art of making these from the Rugelach Master of Bensonhurst: my mother. These are real Brooklyn rugelach, individually rolled into the traditional spiral shape, and stuffed with golden raisins, cinnamon and sugar, as rugelach was meant to be stuffed. The dough is light and flaky, just sweet enough, with a surprising delightful wine-like flavor.

One pound of rugelach contains at least 40 pieces.

Refrigerated rugelach stay fresh for at least one week, or can be frozen.
